Yesterday I was at the first Lincoln Square peace vigil of 2007. This vigil has been held weekly in Worcester since 9-11-01.
The current schedule is Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30.
Response was very positive, as it has been for the past year or two. One young Latino man stopped his car, pointed at us, smiled, and said: “I was in the army. I love you people!”

If the molestation scandals hadn’t proved it enough already, the propensity for even nuns and priests to commit sin is made frightfully clear by their participation in the Rwandan genocide. How could anyone, much less a nun, commit such evil acts? Have they said anything to defend their actions?

There’s a vigil Monday, October 30, at noon in front of Worcester’s City Hall to remember Brad Will, a US videojournalist associated with the Indymedia movement who was killed last week in Oaxaca. For more info about Brad, this BoingBoing post is as good a place to start as any. Speakers at the Worcester event will include local Indymedia activists who knew him.
